Despite the cold, blustery, weather more than 20 people joined us for our tour of Hastings cemetery with Anne Scott who told us the stories behind some of the memorials and those buried there both local and national figures from all over the world. It seems that, in the 19th century, many came to Hastings to improve their health but it didn’t quite work out like that. Fortunately the rain just about held off until the end.
If you’re interested in finding out more about Hastings Cemetery and those buried there, the Friends of Hastings Cemetery website is a mine of information.
